Flypos Flypos ID38 Terminal Review

The Flypos ID38 can be used either online or offline. This acquirer-controlled credit card terminal uses Fixed, MK/SK and DUKPT Key Management. The model has Display, ICCR, MSR, CTLS, PIN Entry, OP and SRED functionality. This Flypos ID38 keypad is EMV and PCI compliant.

Features & Benefits

The Flypos Flypos ID38 credit card terminal claims to be one of the smallest devices in the “Ultracompact” market sector. The calculator-shaped keypad has dimensions of 3.7 x 2.4 x 0.4 inches (9.3 x 6 x 1.1 centimeters) and weighs just 2.1 ounces (60 grams). The Flypos ID38 is like a tiny fly in the palm of your hand.

The manufacturers are proud of their unique keypad design: 10 x numeric, 1 x power and 3 x control keys located in 3 x columns to conserve space. Users view information on the 2-inch, ¼ VGA, 240 x 320 pixel color display screen.

The Bluetooth-enabled Flypos ID38 device uses a 32-bit ARM9 RISC CPU and lithium polymer battery. Storage includes 128 MB flash memory and 32 MB RAM. This credit card machine can read ICC and contactless with an optional Magnetic Stripe Reader (MSR) available. A docking station and printer are also optional.

Merchants can enjoy real-time access for loyalty, lottery or ticketing functions and sync with Apple, Google, Microsoft or Blackberry devices. The Flypos ID38 runs on the open-source Linux operating system.

Connectivity is delivered via micro USB connector, 3G, Wifi or Blueooth. The device uses RSA and 3DES encryption.
