LineaTab Terminal Overview

The Datecs Ltd. LineaTab line of products taps into the popularity of the Apple iPod and iPhone brands. The Linea-Pro, Linea Pro 4 and Linea Pro 5 transform Apple mobile devices into point-of-sale (POS) money payment systems. The Bluetooth-enabled LineaTab adheres to the Apple RS232 protocol, UCC/EAN, GS1, IATA, ISBN, ISMN, ISSN, RSS and is PCI-compliant with DUKPT and Fixed Key Management.

Features & Benefits

A small business owner can connect the LineaTab credit card terminal into his Apple iPod or iPhone mobile device turning it into a credit card swiping machine. The LineaTab weight is 96 grams (3.4 ounces) with battery and 2D barcode scanner. The Linea Pro 5 dimensions are 142 x 69 x 27 millimeters (5.6 x 2.7 x 1.06 inches) with the 2D scanner.

The operation modules for these devices are “Active,” “Active with Scanning,” and “Stand By.” The power supply voltage is 3.3V & 5V with rechargeable Li-ion battery and 3.7V/700mAh512 k 12C EEPROM memory. Communications is via RS232 interface, USB interface of Bluetooth – the RS232 interface speed is 57,600 bps.

The Linea-Pro is designed for the second or third generation iPod Touch with combination 1D or 2D barcode scanner and 3-track magnetic credit card swiping reader. The attachment is via 30-pin mating connector.

The Linea Pro 4 and Linea Pro 5 are made for either the iPod or iPhone with 1D or 2D barcode scanner options, 3-track magnetic credit card stripe reader, rechargeable battery and optional contactless card reader. The Linea Pro 5 is slightly larger than the Linea Pro 4.
